Services | 24-Hour Crisis Hotline | Resource Database | Mothers Assistance Fund | YEP Program (Youth Enrichment Program) | Community Education and Outreach Program If you and your children are in an abusive situation and need help, call our 24-hour, toll-free national crisis hotline at (866) 592-7870. We assist women and their children anywhere in the U.S. in locating a domestic violence shelter. Our trained hotline volunteers will personally assist you in locating a women's shelter, contacting the shelter on your behalf and verifying whether the shelter has the space and/or resources to help you and your children. In addition, our volunteers can help you locate other community resources in your community, such as law enforcement, housing and basic needs providers and advocacy groups. An extensive Resource Database is maintained by BMRF. This database is utilized by hotline volunteers in providing referrals to domestic violence shelters, law enforcement agencies and other community services available for women and their children in all 50 states. The Mothers Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to battered mothers and their children who are in a Domestic Violence Shelter or other nonprofit organization program with a tax exempt status. This program is to help alleviate the financial constraints that often prevent battered mothers with children from leaving an abusive environment. BMRF can provide direct aid with vouchers or gift cards to assist with immediate needs such as clothing, school supplies, toiletries, food and other necessities to help mothers with children make a fresh start. YEP Program (Youth Enrichment Program) Our Youth Enrichment Program is currently being developed. This program will provide funds for community involvement and empowerment opportunities for the children of mothers who have been referred by a Domestic Violence Shelter or other nonprofit tax exempt program. Community Education and Outreach Program Presentations are provided to community groups and organizations emphasizing the importance of services and supports needed for mothers with children who are victims of domestic violence. Special attention is given to The Effects of Domestic Violence on Children and Why Women Stay in Abusive Relationships. |
