At this time of celebration, when we traditionally express our caring and appreciation for others through gift giving, BMRF invites you to join us in helping to make the holidays a happy, memorable occasion for battered mothers and their children.

Instead of buying a new wreath for the door, a new holiday door mat, or changing your ornaments for the tree this year, consider making a gift to BMRF on behalf of battered mothers and children living in shelters. Funds raised will be used to provide holiday gifts for kids and moms this holiday season.

Imagine what it would be like to be a mother with children who has been forced to flee from her home due to abuse and suffering that she and her kids could not bear to take for one more day. It would be difficult enough just to get through each day, figuring out how to keep your family together, planning where you are going to live, how you can stay safe and free from your abuser, how you will be able to work to support your family or get your kids back in school.

To get through what is supposed to be a happy and joyous time, without even the means to give your child a gift would be very difficult. Yet this is what hundreds of mothers and their children living in shelters will experience this year unless they receive help from charities and individuals who want to see them with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts instead of tears and sadness.
